Sep 18 is Water Communion! & Celebrating 25-Year Members! & Sundae Sunday! & More!
This congregation is something to celebrate! And celebrate we will on Sunday, September 18!
On Sept. 18, we’ll celebrate water communion — this will be the first water communion service celebrated in our building in three years!
Please bring a small vial of water to the service on Sep 18 as a symbol of what restores and refreshes you, and as a symbol of your own individual journey of this past year.
In a first for the congregation, at the Sep 18 service we will also celebrate 25-year members! Why is this the first time we’re doing this? Because 25 years ago was when this congregation was just starting up. These 25-year members are founding members of the congregation and we wouldn’t be here if not for them and their commitment and their love and their enthusiasm.
To further celebrate this congregation, we will also welcome new members at this service! There are some folks who joined while we were restricted to online-only services and they will now be formally welcomed. And there will be more people besides who are also going to sign the book! Can you stand it?
But wait — there’s more!
We will also celebrate the start of a new era of religious exploration by welcoming Jamie Gargano in her new role as our Director of Religious Exploration!
We are going to need a lot of energy to party this hard, so Stewart’s Shops has generously donated us the fixin’s for making ice cream sundaes that Sunday. Yes! (If you can help scoop, contact Rev. Joe! revjoeuucss@gmail.com )
I hold you all in my heart & there has never been a more important moment in which we lay claim to our joy! Our UU joy will change us, our community, and our world.
Who knew that sundaes were spiritual practice? (I’ll tell you how they were a Unitarian invention in a future Cup of Joe!)
Blessings!
Rev. Joe
