How could a man be both a warrior and a man of peace? Learn how Ulysses S. Grant, a simple mid-western man who loved his country, harbored a deep desire for peace in a desperately fractured nation in this special International Day of Peace program on Saturday, September 21 at 1 p.m. at Grant Cottage.
Ben Kemp, Grant Cottage operations manager, will lead the program, which will explore the “peaceful warrior” whose enduring efforts towards peace still resonate with us today. After his presentation, Kemp will lead the audience in a discussion of the vital elements of peace. Weather permitting, a peace ceremony will follow the program at Grant’s Overlook.
The suggested donation for Grant Cottage Porch Programs is $5 per person.
