Sad News

Jeremy Sykes died Sunday afternoon at St Mary’s hospital in Amsterdam.  While we knew Jeremy had been declining from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis for years, it still feels like a surprise that he is gone.  Jeremy is deeply beloved by so many in the congregation and his death will be difficult for many of us.

We send love to Jeremy’s wife Tari Lee who appreciates your notes and calls.  It is a great blessing that, thanks to the wisdom of his nurses, Tari Lee was able to be with Jeremy at the end, holding each other in their arms.

Plans are in the early stages of development for an online memorial service via Zoom.  Those who love Jeremy are scattered around the globe and even though it is a loss not to gather face to face as we are used to, being online will help many more to gather together to remember Jeremy and celebrate his life.

Your absence has gone through me
Like thread through a needle.
Everything I do is stitched with its color.

We wish Jeremy blessings on his journey.  He has been a blessing to us.

There is a love holding Jeremy.  There is a love holding Tari Lee.  There is a love holding us all.  May we find peace and grace in that love.
