“Open to Awe”

As Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel has written, “Awe enables us to perceive in the world intimations of the divine…to sense the ultimate in the common and the simple; to feel in the rush of the passing the stillness of the eternal….Forfeit your sense of awe, let your conceit diminish your ability to revere, and the universe becomes a marketplace for you.”

On this Christmas Eve, may we be open to awe.
