“The Local Face of Hunger”

Forty million pounds of food, the amount delivered by the Regional Food Bank each year in our area, sure sounds like a lot of nutrition—but it’s not enough! Consider that in the U.S. one in six children is food insecure, and in New York State 11% of the population does not receive enough food. Hunger is basic and its eradication a matter of ethical and spiritual significance.

In this morning’s service, Mark Quandt of the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York talks about the presence of hunger in our communities and what all of us, people of conscience, can do to help alleviate it.
