“What Have We Done; Where Will We Go?”

Two members of the UUCSS Indigenous History reading group share the understandings they have gained from reading U.S. history from an Indigenous perspective. The usual stories that we tell ourselves about the founding of our nation largely erase Indigenous peoples from historical narratives, both culturally and physically, and sanitize those few encounters that appear in the stories. What does a broader perspective on a complicated U.S. history call us as a people of faith to do?

Sue is a member and Liza a friend of the congregation.
