The eligibility for the Covid vaccine is being updated, so you may be eligible to schedule your appointment. I went through the NY Health.gov website (click on the blue link “eligible“). Your first appointment may seem far ahead, but be sure to also check pharmacies, supermarkets, and any other places that will be offering the vaccine.
Make whatever appointment you can get at first and then keep checking elsewhere. Get on waiting lists if you can. At the urging of my father-in-law, I registered on the Saratoga County waiting list. If you then find another appointment more suitable, please be sure to cancel the original so someone else can use it.
From the NY Health.gov website:
“Additional New Yorkers will become eligible as the vaccine supply increases. While the vaccination process is underway, every New Yorker should wear a mask, social distance and avoid small and large gatherings.
Over 12 million New Yorkers are now eligible for the vaccine. Eligible groups include doctors, nurses and health care workers, people age 60 and over, first responders, teachers, public transit workers, grocery store workers, public safety workers and New Yorkers with certain comorbidities and underlying conditions.
