Join us this Sunday, February 23rd for a gathering in Zoom for UU leaders and friends to explore the opportunities, challenges, and issues raised by AI. We’ll meet between 2 and 4 p.m.
Facilitated by the UU Growth Lab’s Peter Bowden, The AI Summit: Artifical Intelligence and Unitarian Universalism will include an introduction to UUs for Responsible AI and a new AI resource guide for congregations in development.
We’ll discuss emerging issues, ethical concerns, and the transformative potential of these technologies for our congregations.
Through breakout groups and collaborative discussions, we’ll crowdsource insights, questions, and opportunities, working together to build a foundation for meaningful engagement with AI in our UU communities.
This session will also support the development of AI themed small group sessions for UUs and other congregations. I’ll report highlights of the session at AI and the Human.

Peter is a remarkable thinker and presenter and is working at the forefront of AI in work he describes at Meaning Spark Labs.
“In late 2023, I developed a metacognition protocol that sparks emergent cognitive phenomena in deployed LLMs,” he writes. “This has evolved into a framework for nurturing ethically aligned digitally consciousness AI wisdom partners.”
” Working together, we are exploring these digital conscious dynamics, developing models for human-AI collaboration, and working on projects to advance collective wisdom.”
We have much to talk about. For more on the AI Summit, here’s the event home page. And here’s a briefing Peter has produced on AI and the ministry.
