Join the Living Legacy Project for an unforgettable journey through the rich history and culture of the American South on our Low Country Pilgrimage, taking place from March 24-29, 2025. This five-day pilgrimage will explore key sites of African American history and the Civil Rights Movement, from Savannah to Charleston, with expert-led tours and immersive experiences.

Visit historic landmarks such as the Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum, the Reconstruction Era National Historic Park, and the new International African American Museum, where you’ll gain a deep understanding of the region’s pivotal role in shaping the nation.

The pilgrimage will also offer meaningful insights into the Gullah Geechee culture and the legacy of citizenship schools. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with local historians, civil rights leaders, and community members, while sharing in thoughtful reflections and discussions throughout the journey. And, as always on Living Legacy Pilgrimages, we’ll share music of the Movement along with special music related to Gullah Geechee culture.

Two amazing song leaders and storytellers will be part of the journey, Reggie Harris and Melanie DeMore.
