Committees

Committees assist the Board of Trustees in its governance responsibilities. Only members of the congregation may serve on Committees. 

Endowment Committee

The Endowment Committee manages the congregation’s endowment funds, ensuring their growth and sustainability for future needs. They oversee investments and allocate funds in alignment with the congregation’s mission and goals.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee oversees the congregation’s financial health, including budgeting, financial planning, and monitoring expenses. They ensure transparency and accountability in the management of financial resources.

Leadership Committee

The Leadership Committee identifies, nurtures, and supports current and future leaders within the congregation. They provide training and development opportunities to enhance leadership skills and ensure effective governance.

Personnel Committee

The Personnel Committee manages employment matters, including hiring, evaluations, and personnel policies. They ensure fair and equitable treatment of the congregation’s staff, aligning with the congregation’s values.

Shared Ministries Committee

The Shared Ministries Committee fosters collaboration between various ministries and teams within the congregation. They promote a unified approach to fulfilling the congregation’s mission and vision.

 

Task Forces

Task Forces are created by the Board to carry out specific tasks and are dissolved when their task has been accomplished.

New Home Task Force

The New Home Task Force has been charged by the Board of Trustees with all aspects of the congregation’s move to a new meetinghouse, a step we aim to take in 2026. The Saratoga Springs Planning Board has approved our application to locate our new home on a five-acre parcel at 400 Louden Road. 

 

Teams

Teams carry out the ministry of the congregation.  Being part of a team is not limited to official members of the congregation.  Teams are overseen by the Minister.

Building & Grounds Team. 

The Building & Grounds Team maintains and improves the physical facilities of the congregation, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment. They handle repairs, landscaping, and long-term maintenance planning.

Care Team. 

The Care Team provides support and assistance to congregation members in times of need, such as illness, loss, or personal crisis. They coordinate meals, visits, and other acts of kindness to foster a caring community.

Fundraising Team. 

The Fundraising Team organizes events and initiatives to raise funds for the congregation’s programs and activities. They develop creative strategies to engage members and the wider community in supporting the congregation’s mission. 

Membership and Hospitality Team. 

The Membership and Hospitality Team welcomes newcomers and helps integrate them into the congregation. They organize social events and activities to foster a sense of belonging and community.

Religious Exploration Team 

The Religious Exploration Team oversees the religious exploration programs for all ages, promoting spiritual growth and learning. They ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all participants.

RE Safety Team

The RE Safety Team is responsible for overseeing and implementing the congregation’s “Policy for Safety of Children and Youth in Religious Exploration Programming.”  The team consists of the Minister, the Director of Religious Exploration, a member of the Board of Trustees, and one other member chosen by the Board.

Security Team. 

The Security Team is responsible for the safety and security of the congregation’s facilities and events. They develop and implement protocols to protect members, visitors, and property.

Social Justice Team. 

The Social Justice Team advocates for social justice and equity, organizing actions and initiatives to address systemic injustices. They engage the congregation in community service and activism.

Stewardship & Capital Campaign Team. 

The Stewardship and Capital Campaign Team coordinates efforts to secure financial resources for the congregation’s operations and capital projects. They promote a culture of generosity and gratitude among members.

Worship Team. 

The Worship Team plans and coordinates worship services, ensuring they are meaningful and spiritually enriching. They collaborate with Rev. Joseph Cleveland to create diverse and inspiring worship experiences.
