To increase engagement and educate our constituents, NYUUJ will be holding Zoom calls each month focused on our focus issues and how to make an impact in Albany. On the third Monday of each month, you can hop on our Zoom to learn background information, ask questions, and find out how you can take action on the issues NYUUJ works on. The topic and speakers will change each month, and every meeting will better help you connect to the work NYUUJ is doing.

For February, we will be joining our friends at NYCLU for a TUESDAY Virtual Lobbying Training at 6 PM (note the change in date and time). As members of NYUUJ, part of our faithful activism involves meeting with our elected officials. What do we do when we want to speak with them but can’t make it to Albany? This is where virtual lobbying comes in. Please join this NYCLU call for a training about legislative advocacy and how to lobby. These skills will be applicable to advocating with NYUUJ and well as other issues you care about.

Gov. Hochul has Signed Medical Aid in Dying into Law!

After such a long and intense effort to get where we are, Governor Kathy Hochul signed the Medical Aid in Dying Act into law this past Friday. Special thanks once again goes out to everyone who worked over the past decade and beyond to make this a reality.
