Pledge
Why Pledge to UU Saratoga’s Capital and Stewardship Campaigns?
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Saratoga Springs has always been a beacon of community, compassion, and connection. For years, we have thrived at 624 North Broadway, a space that has provided roots and a sense of belonging. However, as the world changes and the needs of the community evolve, we have decided to embark on a new journey. In December 2022, we voted to leave our current home and build a beautiful and accessible new one on a five-acre property at 400 Louden Road.
The Task Before Us: Building Our New Home
The major task that lies ahead is raising $700,000 to build the new UU Saratoga Meeting House. This is an ambitious goal, but it is within reach if we come together as a congregation and community. This new space will not just be a building; it will be a sanctuary for spiritual growth, a hub for social justice work, and a welcoming space for the entire community. It will reflect our commitment to live lightly on the land, to foster connections across generations, and to create a space where creativity, curiosity, and reverence can flourish.
Why Your Pledge Matters
Your pledge to the Capital Campaign is an investment in the future of our congregation and the wider community. By pledging, you are helping to create a space that will serve as a home for our spiritual journeys, a place where we can gather, reflect, and take action to make the world a better place. The new meeting house will be more than just a building; it will be a symbol of our values and a tangible representation of our commitment to inclusivity, connection, and growth.
The Importance of Our Annual Stewardship Campaign
While the Capital Campaign is critical to building our new home, our annual Stewardship Campaign is equally important. This campaign ensures that we can continue to sustain our congregation’s daily operations, support our dedicated staff, and fund the programs and ministries that are the heart of our community.
Our Pledge Drive Goal for 2024-25 is $190,000. Your pledge supports everything from staff salaries and benefits to utilities, insurance, and the many programs that enrich our community life. Without strong support for our Stewardship Campaign, the vital work we do together would not be possible.
Why Pledge to Both Campaigns?
Pledging to both the Capital and Stewardship Campaigns is a way to ensure that our congregation not only has a beautiful new home but also remains vibrant and fully operational during this time of transition. Your contribution to the Capital Campaign will help us build a space that meets the evolving needs of our community, while your pledge to the Stewardship Campaign will sustain the essential services and programs that make UU Saratoga a place of meaning and connection.
By pledging to both campaigns, you are making a powerful statement about your commitment to the future of our congregation. You are helping to ensure that UU Saratoga continues to be a beacon of love, justice, and spiritual growth for generations to come.
How to Make Your Pledge
We invite everyone who regularly participates in the life of our congregation—members, friends, seekers, and visitors alike—to make a pledge. Your pledge is a personal decision and should reflect your commitment to this spiritual home. Whether you are able to give a large or small amount, every pledge makes a difference.
You can choose to pledge online, set up automatic withdrawals, or contribute via check. The important thing is to make your pledge in a way that works for you and to fulfill that pledge throughout the next three years.
A Community Effort
Building our new meeting house and sustaining our congregation is a community effort. It requires the participation and generosity of everyone who cares about UU Saratoga. Together, we can make our vision for the future a reality.
Thank you for your commitment to UU Saratoga, for your generous pledges, and for helping to build a future where our values of inclusivity, connection, and spiritual growth can thrive.
