Below is the summary of the New Home activities this week:
1. Jim Cox, our attorney is reviewing the Bast Hatfield Construction contract proposal. After his review and recommendations , and Board approval we will sign the contract. We need the proceeds from the sale of 624 Broadway to prove that we have sufficient funds to pay for the work. Thus, the start date will be delayed past April and will not start until Summer.
2. We are still gathering contributions from Go Fund Me campaign and the $50,000.00 match. Last Sunday, a few checks were placed in the plate for the Capital Campaign. These were appreciated.
3. According to Charlie Goodrich, our realtor, the buyer has contracted with a local architect and LA Group to complete his site plan and go through the permitting process with the City of Saratoga Springs. He is moving forward. Presently, the closing date is July 27, 2026. The buyer gave us a $25,000. 00 non refundable deposit towards the purchase of 624 N. Broadway.
4. Murray Penney has contracted with Paul Mastrodonato, a local fundraiser to help us find money to complete the Build. He will work with Foundations, grants, and others to raise money. If you know of anyone who would like to help us, please let us know.
5. Chalice Lighter Grant. Murray is pursuing a grant with UUA Chalice lighters. Murray and Arliss were regular contributors. If you have contributed to the Chalice Lighter organization in the past, please email Murray with your information. Thanks.
Best,
Art Holmberg for the Task Force.
