As people of faith, our emotional default is to believe that since we automatically treat people with decency and respect and engage with them truthfully, we assume that others will respond in kind. When that does not happen, we may be left adrift, finding a need to protect ourselves, our beliefs and those we care for from unfamiliar threats but not knowing how. In the last few years our nation has found itself on either side of this dilemma and immigration is often the pivot point. Our discussion on Sunday will look at how this antagonism developed, what it portends for the future and what might be an appropriate response.
Beginning Sunday October 12th, we will have our 10am service at our meetinghouse at 624 N. Broadway in Saratoga Springs. We look forward to seeing you there!
